Higher

John Watt

Acoustic Rock and Blues with a dash of country. Full-band sound with heartfelt lyrics and plenty of harmonica.

"What comes out most on WATT's new CD "Higher", is the Iowan's knack and sense for clean, crisp and catchy ditties. His vocal chops, too, come up smooth on such songs as "She Needs Me", "Going to the Contry" and the melancholy "Emily".

His vocal chops, too, come up smooth on such songs as "She Needs Me", "Going to the Contry" and the melancholy "Emily". From acoustic and electic guitars to perfectly placed harp and keys, the music shines. The 14-song set is solid and will keep your attention all the way through." ~ Omaha City Weekly

" A first time listener might guess incorrectly on the band's origin as they sound something like a Southern Rock, latter-day English Merzy Beat cross, but they are all from the Midwest. The JOHN WATT BAND hails from Council Bluffs, Iowa. Gentle, laid-back instrumentation mixes well with a consistent Country-sounding harmony in "HIGHER", WATT's latest CD" "Fairweather Friend" touches a first-time listener with curiosity for this unique mix". ~ Laredo Morning Times

"WATT has an expressive voice, with a rasp that gives it character and phrasing a little like Bob Dylan." ~ The Des Moines Register

"This is a sweet piece of music." ~ Reviewer of Kalidescope

" I have picked JOHN WATT and his CD "Higher" as the "Shooting Star of the Year for 2007." ~ Eddie Weldon ~ "As I EAR IT " Predictions of America's Hits to Come & Around the World
